Ijaw Elders Urge Minister To Address Oil-Related Environmental Damage

Ijaw Elders Forum (IEF) leaders have urged Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of State (Oil), to address environmental damage that is purportedly brought on by oil corporations in their area.

The organisation made the request in a statement of congratulations to the minister that was written on Tuesday in Yenagoa and co-signed by its chairman, Chief Bukazi Etete, and secretary, Efiye Bribena. Read more here.

Northern Forum Urges Navy, Tantita Cooperation Against Niger Delta Oil Theft

In order to combat the threat of oil theft in the Niger Delta, the "Kungiyar Mutanen Arewa" forum in the North has urged cooperation between Tantita security forces and the Nigerian Navy.

Oil Prices Rises To $94 Per Barrel Amid Global Supply Concerns

The global crude oil market witnessed a surge in prices as Brent crude reached $94 per barrel, the highest level in 2023.
