West Ham Dump Out Arsenal From Carabao Cup

West Ham dumped out Arsenal from the Carabao Cup following a 3-1 defeat in Wednesday night's fourth round clash.

The Arsenal side selected by Mikel Arteta produced a below-par display from the first whistle and fell behind via an own goal after 16 minutes.

Ben White nodded into his own net a corner kick from Jarrod Bowen to give the Hammers a 1-0 lead at half-time.

The Gunners were punished five minutes after the break when Mohammed Kudus finished low through the legs of Gabriel after he beautifully controlled Nayef Aguerd's 50-yard cross-field pass.

The third was added by Bowen shortly before the hour when he fired in a volley from the edge of the area, which deflected off Gabriel's thigh and wrongfooted Aaron Ramsdale.

Arsenal did pull one back late on through substitute Martin Odegaard, but it only proved to be a consolation as the Gunners' 30-year wait to win the League Cup goes on.

Victory means West Ham are into the quarter-finals for the third successive season, where they will face Liverpool at Anfield.
