West Ham Fall To Olympiacos In Europa League

West Ham fell to a 2-1 defeat to Olympiacos in Thursday's UEFA Europa League Group A clash.

It was the Hammers first European defeat in 17 games as Kostas Fortounis scored the home side's opener when he struck from 25 yards after surging through the West Ham defence.

Then on the stroke of half-time, Olympiacos increased their lead through Angelo Ogbonna, who sliced the ball into the back of his own net.

The Hammers continued to struggle in the second half but halved the deficit with four minutes to go.

Lucas Paqueta smashed home a terrific strike on the volley but it couldn't earn them a point.

West Ham remain top of Group A despite losing, while Olympiacos sit in third place having earned their first win in the competition.
