What It Was Like Working With Wizkid In The Studio — Ayra Starr [Video]

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has opened up about her experience working with Wizkid in the studio for their collaboration on the single ‘2 Sugar’.

The song is featured on Wizkid’s ‘More Love Less Ego’ album, which was released in November 2022.

In a recent interview, Ayra Starr shared that she was nervous before the recording session, wondering if she would be able to deliver.

“I remember my heart was beating so fast before that session.

“I was like, ‘Hey, what if I could not? What if I don't know what to sing? What if I get there and I don't know what to do?’

“You know sometimes you get to the studio and nothing is there,” she said.

However, her worries soon dissipated as the session got underway.

Ayra Starr went on to reveal that she completed her part of the song in just one take, thanks to Wizkid’s encouragement.

“It was so quick. I recorded a song before; he had like a whole song out already, he just wanted me to do the hook.

“I did the hook of that one and I started freestyling. Then he looked at me; he’s like ‘What’s that? Just go’.

“I was like, are you sure? Because I am always overthinking.

“He was just like ‘go and record’. I did everything in one take,” she explained.
