What To Expect From BBNaija Season 7

What To Expect From BBNaija Season 7

Fans and audiences of the controversial reality show Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) are warming up as the show will commence this July with a double launch show on Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24, 2022.

This season’s winner will take home a grand prize worth N100 million that includes 50 million Naira cash and other exciting prizes.

With that said, the audience of the show will expect a whole lot of fun personalities, twists and turns.

But of course, you cannot really expect anything predictable, all thanks to Biggie's big sense of humour and unexpected surprises.

The Ninjas Are Back!

One of the exciting things about BBNaija season 7 is the return of the ninjas and there will be live audiences too.

BBNaija Ninjas

The BBNaija live audience was suspended in 2020 as part of measures to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and was not returned for the Shine Ya Eye edition in 2021.

Hopefully, the ninjas can help shake up the housemates with the dynamics they bring to the game.

Truth be told, the 'Shine Ya Eye' edition of BBNaija didn't live up to expectations when compared to the past editions.

Conflicting Personalities

When you confine a certain number of housemates (HM) from diverse backgrounds under the same roof, to live together for three months, what do you expect?

Personality tensions will definitely set in, and this is exactly what the audiences live for. Clashes.

Tboss and Bisola Fight

If there is peace among the housemates, how then do fanbases have something to fight about it?

Of course, there will be villains. Those ones who are there to instigate fights and sew seeds of discord where there isn't.

Mediators are to be expected too. They are the ones who try to extinguish the fights among everyone. Some housemates are in the house for love while some are chronic flirts.

Kitchen Dominance/Food Fight

Food fights and kitchen dominance are inevitable occurrences.

As the saying goes "a hungry man is an angry man"; people could be annoyed or irritated quicker than usual when hungry.

Brighto turning Semo

For some housemates who are not used to cooking or have other people do the cooking in their houses, this might be a lot to stomach because there are no paid cooks in Biggie's house.

Ka3na Jones and Lucy from the Lockdown edition took it upon themselves to cook for the housemates before their eviction. This didn't stop housemates from fighting over food.

Also, Whitemoney from the 'Shine Ya Show' edition was accused by his fellow housemate Pere of monopolizing the kitchen as a strategy to win the show.

Toxic Fan Wars

Is it Big Brother Naija if the audience doesn't pick their favourite housemates from the premiere and starts throwing shades at each other? No!

Toxic fanbases, baseless fights and unending comparisons go hand in hand with the show.

There is no fair fight when it comes to BBNaija stanship. Mercenaries (Mercy Eke) versus Titans (Tacha Akide) and iCons (Laycon)versus Elites (Erica) are the biggest BBNaija rivals and up till now, the fanbases do not see eye to eye even though their faves have long-reconciled whatever their fight was about.

Conservatives Vs Supporters Views

One other recurring fact is the conflicting views between the show's supporters and conservatives on what positive purpose the BBNaija serves.

Expectedly, BBNaija's antagonist will claim the show promotes immorality and celebrates mediocrity amongst the youth.

Of course, they will say the youths have misplaced their priorities.

In 2020, before the commencement of the 'Lockdown edition', some netizens accused BBNaija audiences of not caring enough about the state of the nation but would rather sit and watch the show throughout the day.

A month after Laycon was crowned the winner, youths took over the streets for the nationwide #EndSARS protest against police brutality.

With the 2023 general election fast approaching, critics (most of whom do not know what the show is about) will argue that the show will be a big source of distraction to the youths.

This is to be expected because some months ago, some netizens called on the show's host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu to ask the organisers to suspend the show until the end of the 2023 general election.
