With Manchester United hoping to sign Uruguayan youth star, Facundo Pellistri from Peñarol on transfer deadline day, the 18-year-old has previously stated he would welcome a move to Europe.
AllNews reports that according to MEN Sport, discussions are ongoing over a move for Pellistri in a deal which is thought to be worth in the region of around €10m.
The Uruguayan has created plenty of excitement in his native country after he was handed the No.10 shirt at Penarol ahead of the 2020-21 season and so far he has a goal and an assist in five Copa Libertadores appearances.
Speaking in August, Pellistri admitted that he would be interested in a move to Europe after links emerged claiming he was joining Boca Juniors.

“Who would not like to play in Boca? It is a great club but if something from Europe appeared, I would take the leap,” Pellistri had said.
Meanwhile, Edinson Cavani, formerly of PSG and Alex Telles of FC Porto are at Manchester United's Carrington training complex ahead of their Deadline Day moves to the club, AllNews reports.
Cavani, who is a free agent after leaving the French champions at the end of last season, is set to sign a two-year deal and will provide some valuable experience to United's youthful forward line.
Telles is expected to arrive at Old Trafford on a five-year deal after United agreed a £15.4m deal with Porto on Sunday, just hours after the Portuguese club turned down their initial offer.
