WhatsApp Is Back Following Hours Of Outage

WhatsApp Is Back Following Hours Of Outage

Meta has restored WhatsApp services after almost two hours of outage on Tuesday.

The outage was discovered a few minutes after 8:00 on Tuesday (WAT).

Users of the messaging platform turned to alternative messaging services including Snapchat, iMessage, Telegram, and others as a result of the outage.

As of the time of this writing, WhatsApp has not yet explained why its platform was unavailable everywhere.

Since the service fell offline last year as part of a significant outage that also affected Instagram, Messenger, Oculus, and Facebook, this is the first significant disruption to affect WhatsApp.

It took more than six hours to resolve the issue and restore WhatsApp's functionality.
