WhatsApp has currently rolled out a major update that allows users to create groups of up to 512 individuals and share media files up to 2GB in size.
The latest update is released to its Android, iOS and Desktop versions.
WhatsApp has already tested the increased limit in Argentina, and the company is now ready to make it available to everyone.
In a new blog post on its website, the firm officially reveals its plans for additional WhatsApp features to be released in the following weeks.
WhatsApp also stated in their blog post that the feature is being sent out in stages: this is standard procedure when releasing new features, so don't be surprised if you can't add more than 256 people to your groups right now.
More WhatsApp accounts will have access to the functionality in the coming weeks.
