Why Actor Michael Caine May Be Retiring From Acting

English actor Michael Caine has disclosed that he is most likely retiring from acting after his next film.

The star got his breakthrough in the 1960s and in a career spanning over 60 years, has seen his films gross over $7.8 billion worldwide.

Caine's disclosure about retiring is definitely going to break a lot of hearts but it's for a really good reason, as he revealed while talking about his career and health recently.

According to him, his forthcoming film Best Sellers will very likely be his last movie because of a spine issue that has affected his legs.

"I got this alcoholic part and, funnily enough, it has turned out to be my last part, really", he said. "Because I haven’t worked for two years and I have a spine problem which affects my legs so I can’t walk very well.

"And I also wrote a book – a couple of books – which were published and were successful. I’m now not an actor, I’m a writer, which is lovely because, as an actor, you have to get up at half-past six in the morning and go to a studio.

"A writer, you start writing without leaving the bed!"

Born on March 14, 1933, Michael Caine has appeared in over 130 films in his film career. He is ranked at number 20 on the list of the highest-grossing box office stars.
