Hollywood star Ben Affleck has opened up on how he was hesitant to rekindle his romance with Jennifer Lopez, attributing him almost having a rethink because of his kids.
The Triple Frontier star talked about his personal life in a recent interview session with show host Howard Stern and dished on getting back to J-Lo 17 years after ending their engagement in 2004.
Stern asked Affleck if there was hesitation on his part being that he is a father, noting that getting involved with Lopez would even more attention to him.
Responding, the actor said, "It crossed my mind for sure. My responsibility to my children is the highest responsibility. I don't want to do anything that is painful or destructive to them if I can help it.
"That being said, I know that my life affects them", he added.
Affleck and ex-wife, actress Jennifer Garner, share daughters Violet, 16, and Seraphina, 12, plus son Samuel, 9, and he disclosed that they both tried to make their marriage work.
"The truth was we took our time, we made the decision, we grew apart. We had a marriage that didn't work. This happens … we tried because we had kids.
"We did not want it to be the model of marriage for the kids. We did our best. I knew she was a good mom, and I hoped she knew I was a good dad."
