Hollywood actress Leslie Jones has shared why comedian Chris Rock resorted to counselling after the infamous slap incident at the Oscars involving Will Smith.
In a chat with People Magazine, Jones who watched the show from home that night said that it was a humiliating experience for Rock.
According to her, the popular comedian was accompanied to counselling with his daughters.
“That shit was humiliating. It really affected him. People need to understand his daughters, his parents, saw that. He had to go to counselling with his daughters,” she said.
Jones stated that she was infuriated when Smith slapped Rock across the face on live television as she was so "fucking mad" about it.
“You don’t know that I was going to jump in my car and roll up there. I was so fucking mad on so many levels.”
Speaking further, Jones opined that Smith, who got the award for Best Actor for his outing in King Richard should have attempted to patch things with Rock when he accepted the award.
Smith offered an apology to the Academy and his fellow nominees while giving his acceptance speech but offered no words directly to Rock.
A day later, Smith said sorry directly to Rock on social media, penning the words: “There is no part of me that thinks that was the right way to behave in that moment.”
