VIDEO: Why I Never Want To Go Broke — Dwayne Johnson

Hollywood heavyweight and former wrestler Dwayne Johnson has revealed why he has no intention of ever going broke again.

Unarguably one of the industry's leading men, Johnson's transition from the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) to the big screen has recorded the kind of success that would make anyone green with envy.

In a recent chat with The Pivot, the Seven Bucks Production Company founder disclosed that his success story is traceable to his determination to never go broke again.

"My goal wasn't to be here in Hollywood, making movies hopefully with a little bit of longevity. That was never my goal.

"To be completely honest with you guys, complete transparency, my goal was just to not be broke. 

"And I used to tell myself this all the time... In the spirit of just being completely open, I used to tell myself specifically; 'I cannot be fucking broke'...

"And I think because we struggled a lot growing up and I saw how hard my dad was working his ass, we travelled all around, we were able to pay rent, live a good life but I saw what the end of the road was.

"And that was being evicted and not having any money, and him and my mum like scrapping in Tampa.

"He opened up a cleaning company and they were just like cleaning houses, cleaning anything they could, and so for me it was I cannot be broke...", he stated.

Here’s my truth ~ my dream was never what I am today.

I’m so grateful to be where I’m at, however my driving ambition was this/

“I can not be fucking broke”

That’s the truth and that’s the chip that remains on my shoulder.
