Why SWAT Must End Now Before It Matures- Don Jazzy

Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy has asked the Federal Government to end the new Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) Team, a new unit to replace the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, (SARS).

AllNews earlier reported that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu on Tuesday, October 13, set up SWAT to fill the gaps arising from the dissolution of the defunct SARS.

Mohammed had ordered all personnel of SARS to report at the Force Headquarters, Abuja for debriefing, psychological and medical examination.

The officers are expected to undergo this process as a prelude to further training and reorientation before being redeployed into mainstream policing duties. 

Reacting to the development, Don Jazzy said it was best for the government to end SWAT and avoid spending money on training, uniforms, and logos.

“They should just end this SWAT now before it starts o. Nobi’ tomorrow now they will say they spent money to do logo, spend money to do uniforms.

“Don’t spend any money o, end it now before it matures,” he said.
