Daura Emirate breaks silence over the decision to turban Yusuf Buhari, President Muhammadu Buhari's only son.

The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk has opened up to clear the air over trailing reactions that the president's son would be turbaned amidst security challenges.

The emir disclosed that turbaning Yusuf would prevent him from moving between Abuja and Yola when the president's tenure is over.

He added that it is also a gesture to give back to the president for the good he has brought to them.

The emir disclosed this in his palace on Thursday at the turbaning ceremony of four new village heads.

Yusuf will be turbaned as Talban Daura and District Head of Kwasarawa on Saturday.

“We are giving him this title to reciprocate the all the good things his father, President Muhammadu Buhari, has done to Daura.

“Even if you don’t like Buhari, you know that Daura of today is different from what it were six years ago. So, to reciprocate this gesture, we gave him the title of Talban Daura, which he gave to his only son, Yusuf. This will prevent him from strolling around Yola and Abuja," he stated.
