Oyigbo: ‘Wike Will Be Jailed For Life’ - Lawyer To IPOB

Oyigbo: ‘Wike Will Be Jailed For Life’ - Lawyer To IPOB

A lawyer to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has threatened that Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State "will be jailed for life", AllNews reports.

Wike has entered the bad books of the outlawed IPOB supporters due to his backing of the military onslaught in Oyigbo town (also called Obigbo), Rivers State, following the killing of soldiers and policemen by suspected IPOB members.

Reacting via his known Twitter handle on Monday to foremost Nigerian online newspaper, Premium Times' recent Investigation on the horrific bloodshed and massive extrajudicial killings in Oyigbo community, Ejiofor boasted that 'we have already prepared a place for him (Wike) at the International Criminal Court (ICC)'.

Why Biafra activists are furious with Gov. Wike

There was a confrontation between members of IPOB and Nigerian security agents during the recent #EndSARS protests.

While some people recently accused soldiers attached to the 6 Division in Rivers State of harassment in Oyigbo, the army has, however, maintained that it has been professional in trying to retrieve weapons looted from its dead colleagues and arrest the attackers who committed the crime.

But the Special Report by Premium Times indicated the Nigerian army, as well as Governor Wike lied.

Governor Wike had gone tough on IPOB, much to the displeasure of their ardent supporters.

Pro-Biafra Group, IPOB

IPOB is a separatist organization in Nigeria.

Its main aim is to restore an independent state of Biafra in the former Eastern Region of Nigeria through an independence referendum.

The group has been banned by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
