Will Smith's 'Bright' Sequel Canceled By Netflix

It may have been weeks since the infamous Oscars slap but actor Will Smith is still facing the consequences of his actions, the latest being the cancelation of his planned Bright sequel.

Reports say streaming platform Netflix has canceled the aforementioned movie, which would have seen Smith reprise the role of LAPD Officer Daryl Ward, a man who forms an alliance with an orc in the first part.

Additionally, Bloomberg discloses that another project involving the star, Pole to Pole, a nature series from National Geographic, has also been delayed.

Pole to Pole is meant to feature Will Smith as he visits the South and North Poles. The actor had previously worked with the network on 2018's One Strange Rock and 2021's Welcome to Earth.

Following the altercation involving fellow movie star and comedian Chris Rock, Smith was banned from the Oscars for 10 years after The Academy voted to sanction him for his actions.
