Oscar-winning Hollywood veteran William Hurt has died at the age of 71.
The late star was a four-time Academy Award nominee and some of his most popular films are Body Heat (1981), The Big Chill (1983), and Kiss of the Spider Woman (1985).
According to news sources, Hurt died at his home in Portland, Oregon on Sunday, March 13, 2022. His son Alexander Hurt disclosed that the actor died from complications of prostate cancer.
William Hurt was born on March 20, 1950. His acting career started with the stage in the 1970s. He made his film debut as a disturbed scientist in the sci-fi feature Altered States (1980).
He was known for playing the character of General Thaddeus Ross in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He leaves behind a wife and four children.
