Wizkid and Tems have set a new record on the Apple Music chart, with their song 'Essence' breaking into the US top 50.
This is the first-ever African song to crack the Top 50 and over the weekend as it peaked at number 48.
'Essence' is one of the tracks on Wizkid's 'Made in Lagos' album (which has surpassed 100 million streams across five platforms) and the collaboration with Tems has only made the upcoming artist more prominent.
Ever since the release of the song, American socialites and celebrities like Kevin Hart, Khloe Kardashian, Malika Haqq, Kylie Jenner, and more have all vibed to it.
Since bursting onto the music scene in August 2019 with her hit single Try Me, Tems has become one of the hottest new acts around, winning fans over with her creative sound and alluring looks.
Wizkid featured her in the eleventh song in his 'Made in Lagos' album 'Essence', and that has proven to be a really wise decision.
Speaking on the song, Tems said she could have delivered a better verse on the track.
