Wolverhampton Wanderers defeats Brentford City 3-2 in FA Cup

Wolves Victory Over Gillingham

Wolves claimed a 3-2 over Brentford City in an all Premier League clash in the FA Cup as both sides aimed to advance to the next round of the competition.

The home side Wolves was the favourites ahead of this match but Brentford made it tough for them taking the game to extra-time.

Visitors Brentford City took the lead in the 13th minute thanks to a goal from Nathan Collins to make it 1-0.

But Nelson Semedo equalized for Wolves to make it 1-1 in the 36th minute. After the restart, Neal Maupay made it 1-2 to restore Brentford's lead in the contest. He was assisted by Josh DaSilva in the 52nd minute.

However, the home side equalized yet again following a goal from Nathan Fraser in the 72nd minute.

He was set-up by star forward Matheus Cunha to make it 2-2. It finished 2-2 after the regulation time. And with the extra-time needed to settle the match.

Matheus Cunha popped up with the winning goal as he stepped up to convert from the spot to grab the defining goal in the match.

It finished 3-2 in favour of Wolverhampton Wanderers as they edged Thomas Frank's Brentford City side in this epic FA Cup encounter.
