Wolves manager O'Neil admits tough task against  Arsenal's

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O'Neil has heaped plaudits on Arsenal and called them the 'best defence in the world' following his team's 2-0 defeat to the north London giants on Saturday night.

The clean sheet was the sixth consecutive away win for Arsenal in the Premier League after the 6-0 win against West Ham United, the 5-0 wins against Burnley and Sheffield United, their 0-0 draw against Manchester City, the 3-0 win over Brighton before Saturday's 2-0 victory at the Molineux.

The former Bournemouth coach, O'Neil admits that it was extremely difficult to get past the league leaders that took advantage of Manchester City's Emirates FA Cup commitments to return to top of the league.

"They [Arsenal] are a tough team. You look at the stats. You look at how they defend the goal and how compact they are. If you manage to get through then the two centre halves are incredible in Gabriel and Saliba, really good physically.

"They're a difficult team to create against especially when basically all of your attackers are injured.

"Trying to create against the best defence in the world is a tough task," O'Neil asserted.

William Saliba is the only Arsenal player to have played every single Premier League game this season.

"It's not often you are pleased and proud after a defeat but in our current situation, to produce energy and fight like that was an incredible effort. "The negative would be the second goal. The lads didn't deserve to lose 2-0," he added.

Wolves had mostly youth team players on the substitute bench as they have been ravaged by injury crisis to several first teamers.
