Woman loses pregnancy following attack by one chance robbers

The Nigerian Police has apprehended the head of a 'one chance' robbery group in Abuja who physically assaulted a pregnant lady, leading her to lose her pregnancy.

Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, confirmed this on his X account on Sunday. The one-time robbery gang leader was not identified in the statement, but a photo believed to be his was attached.

Adejobi wrote, “This is a ring leader of a one-chance robbery gang in Abuja. He used this wheel spanner to beat a pregnant woman (one chance victim) until she had a miscarriage.

“The woman had been waiting for a child for more than eight years. This is wickedness. Anyway, he’s having a trial in the court and has been arrested for the same offence again.”

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC) has apprehended a man, Muhammed Zenabdin on charges of criminal conspiracy and possession of suspected counterfeit currency amounting to $100,000.00.

According to police reports, the arrest followed credible intelligence and a raid on a suspected cybercrime hideout situated in Garki II, FCT. Despite the escape of other members of the criminal gang, Zenabdin was successfully apprehended.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, it was revealed: “Subsequent execution of a search warrant revealed compelling evidence, including One Hundred Thousand United States Dollars in one-hundred-dollar bills believed to be counterfeits, along with sophisticated counterfeit detection equipment, international passports, mobile phones, and a luxury vehicle.”

Adejobi further stated that the suspect has provided confessional statements and valuable information to assist in the apprehension of other members of the gang. Upon the conclusion of the investigation, Adejobi confirmed that the suspect(s) would face arraignment in court.

Adejobi emphasized: “The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC), delivering on its mandate to stamp and decimate the trend of cybercrime in the country, has made a significant breakthrough following the apprehension of one Muhammed Zenabdin “M” for criminal conspiracy and possession of suspected counterfeit currency amounting to one hundred thousand United States Dollars ($100,000.00).”
