Women's Career Empowerment: Amazing Initiative From Women High Achievers Trybe

Over the next five years, the UK government has set new targets of a minimum of 33% of women in board-level positions with FTSE companies. With this new mandate, the issue of the number of women in leadership positions remains as prominent as ever.

This is indeed a tall order.

For example, according to Gill Buchanan, a founding Director of Pure Resourcing Solutions, located in the East of London but with offices in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Ipswich, and Norwich, "We run a Women’s Leadership Programme to help more companies of all sizes and sectors to proactively gain the guidance and support needed to create workplaces which encourage women’s senior careers.

"However, the best-performing businesses achieve high-performing teams because they attract, retain and develop the best talent at all levels, regardless of gender."

Here in Nigeria, a gender-based group, Women High Achievers Trybe has formed a community to inspire career growth among women.

In a statement, the group said the community was unveiled recently at a virtual conference themed “Emerging and Evolving into a High-Value Woman”.

The statement said the community conference, which had an attendance of over 1,000 women, was a huge success, drawing in women from all walks of life, who were eager to learn, grow and connect with other like-minded women. 

Speakers at the event included Naomi Osemedua, Abimbola Balogun, Eno Sam, Toyin Aralepo, Nkechi Alade, and the convener, Kiki Okewale, who are highly respected and accomplished women in their respective fields.

The women shared their experiences, insights, and advice on how to emerge and evolve into industry leaders, emphasizing the importance of self-worth, self-care, self-awareness, and self-development. 

Attendees had the opportunity to participate in panel discussions and networking sessions, which provided them with practical tools and strategies for personal and professional growth.

The statement said the goal of the conference was to create a platform for women to come together and learn from one another and be impacted by other women winning in their various industries. 

The statement added that every woman had the potential to become a high-value woman.
