Working with Conte will do Osimhen world of good — Italian

Super Eagles striker and current African Footballer of the Year, Victor Osimhen has been admonished to play under new Napoli manager, Antonio Conte and forgo his ambitions of playing elsewhere.

Italian football agent, Vincenzo Morabito thinks that the Nigerian will be a success and replicate his form of the 2022/2023 season as a player working with the former Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan boss.

Conte signed a three-year contract at the Naples club and is a manager known for wanting his employers to back him in the transfer market with world-class players.

Osimhen belongs to that elite of players that Cont would wish to work with and Morabito hopes Osimhen sees the need to stay put at his current club.

Speaking on the transfer of top players in the Italian league, Morabito in an interview with Naples-based radio station, 1Station Radio, said Osimhen who was the top scorer in the topflight will do well under the Italian coach:

"If I were in the Nigerian player's shoes, I would still remain with the Azzurri under the guidance of the Lecce-born coach. Working with Antonio Conte would do him a lot of good," the revered Italian agent told 1Station Radio.

Conte has won four league titles in the Italian Serie A and was also successful whilst at Chelsea in his second season at Stamford Bridge albeit the same great strides were not achieved at Spurs where he left in March 2023.

Transfer reports indicate that Arsenal could go back to the negotiating table with the representatives of the Nigerian after having initially decided to chase a deal for 21-year-old Benjamin Sesko.

The Slovenian striker however extended his contract at German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig by four years.
