World Cup Qualifier: Enrique Refuses To Reveal Spanish Goalkeeper

World Cup Qualifier: Enrique Refuses To Reveal Spanish Goalk

Spain manager, Luis Enrique has refused to reveal his first-choice goalkeeper ahead of the International matches with Manchester United shot-stopper, De Gea out with injury.

There has been a lot of debate about who will be La Roja's No.1 at this summer's European Championship, but the 50-year-old didn't want to give too much away.

"I'm Spain coach and that's what I focus on," Luis Enrique said during Wednesday's pre-match press conference.

"I'm not interested in the rest; the best will play. The plans vary. I've done everything in my career. We'll see.

"I'm delighted with every one. I know what I'll do [with the goalkeeper position], but I don't want it to be known.

"I don't know anything about the team that will play at the European Championship. I'm clear about tomorrow."

Gerard Moreno picked up a knock in Villarreal's final game before the international break but has still joined up with the Spain squad, so will he be able to play in any of La Roja's three World Cup qualifiers?

"He's much better, but we're not going to take any risks, as always," Luis Enrique noted.

"He's here because he's fine. We're going to be more cautious than usual. We're going to wait."

Pedri could be in line to make his Spain debut, and widespread comparisons have already been made with another legendary Spanish midfielder in Andres Iniesta.

"They are different. I understand the relationship, but Pedri must look like Pedri," Luis Enrique stated.

"They are identical in the message of humility. Let him grow, make mistakes and improve."

Another player that has received a call-up by Luis Enrique is Bryan Gil, who has been shining on loan at Eibar from Sevilla.

"I'm liking him a lot. From the first chat: calm, mature... He brings a lot of attacking ability with his right foot or with his natural foot," he said.

"He's causes problems for the opposition, he has a shot, he plays well under pressure... He's going to do the same [with Spain] as in his team. I have no doubts."
