Costa Rica qualified for the World Cup for the 6th time on Tuesday when they beat 10-man New Zealand 1-0 in Doha to claim a spot in Qatar 2022.
Joel Campbell scored the only goal in the third minute. New Zealand had a goal disallowed by VAR and saw Kosta Barbarouses sent off for a second-half challenge.
Costa Rica, in their third straight World Cup finals, will go into a group with Germany, Spain and Japan.
The match brought the qualifying campaign to an end as the 4th placed CONCACAF Costa Rica triumphed over Oceania Confederation winner New Zealand.
