World's Oldest Man Dies At 112

Bob Weighton, the Guinness World Record's oldest man, has died at the age of 112.

Weighton, died from cancer on Thursday, as confirmed by his family

Bob was a teacher and engineer from Hampshire in England, and was reported to have "peacefully" departed in his sleep on Thursday morning, his family said.

Speaking with British news agency Press Association newswire, relatives of the deceased said, “With great sadness, the Weighton family announces the death of our beloved Bob Weighton.

“He had many, many friendships and read and talked politics, theology, ecology and more, right up until his death.

“He also cared greatly for the environment.”

Bob was born on March 29, 1908 in Yorkshire, Northern England, in a family of nine.

He earned the title of the world's oldest in February after the death of Japan's world's oldest, Chitetsu Watanabe, and is survived by 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grand children.
