Barcelona has set their sights on Almeria and Nigeria’s Umar Sadiq as a potential replacement for the troubled Sergio Aguero, according to Fichajes.
Sergio Aguero has been sidelined for the next few months due to a heart injury and Sadiq is now being considered as an option for the new Xavi-led team. The former Manchester City player was taken off in a game as he complained of chest pains and has been advised to take time off football for now.
Barcelona's coach Xavi Hernandez is keen to find a replacement for the Argentine striker quickly and he’s interested in the Nigerian player who’s been lighting up the Spanish second division. Barca may need to put out €25m for Sadiq.
The former Nigeria youth international plays for Almeria in the Spanish second division as the team tops the table, and he has seven goals and six assists in 15 matches.
Newcastle United and Tottenham are also reportedly monitoring Sadiq’s situation as the former AS Roma player has 29 goals and 13 assists in 58 competitive games for Almeria.
