Xiaomi Gets Patent For Smart Glasses That Can 'Treat Mental Illness'

Xiaomi was initially thought to be a copycat which earned it the nickname 'China’s Apple' in the Nigerian market. The company was seen as copying the products of the US tech giant Apple.

Over time, the Chinese tech giant has been able to prove that they are not copycats with several innovative products of their own. The brand’s R&D efforts have seen it clinch a new patent. 

The patent was initially filed by Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd. for “a smart glasses and glasses case.”

The patent details show that the product is a smart glasses and a glasses case that can integrate detection and treatment. 

According to a report from gizmochina.com, the report additionally provides that the sunshine alerts might embrace ultraviolet, infrared, laser and visual gentle alerts.  Apart from this, no different details about the smart glasses are accessible properly now. Also, it isn’t clear as to when Xiaomi will launch these smart glasses.

The details also suggest that the product comes with 4F detection and a new therapeutic signal emitter which include phototherapy signals (ultraviolet signals, visible light signals, infrared signals, and laser signals) and sound wave signals, that can be used to treat brain diseases, mental diseases (for example, depression or anxiety), or eye fatigue.

Recall that Lenovo had unveiled the ThinkReality A3 lightweight smart glasses. Immersive but not isolating, the AR smart glasses are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 Platform for high-quality performance and feature stereoscopic 1080p displays presenting the user with up to 5 virtual displays. An 8MP RGB camera provides 1080p video for remote expert use cases while the dual fish-eye cameras provide room-scale tracking.

It remains to be seen how the light therapy signal from Xiaomi glasses would, as promised by the makers,  treat brain diseases or mental diseases. It also remains to be seen, by potential users who are anxiously waiting already, how the sound wave signal and the sound wave signal can treat mental illness, relieve headache or fatigue. Or how the magnetic waves or electromagnetic waves can promote the absorption of missing elements or effectively promote blood circulation in the brain from this promised smart glasses.
