Yahaya Bello Alleges Conspiracy, Says Only Buhari Can Ask Him To Step Down

The presidential aspirant and governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has alleged that Progressives governors from the north did not consult him before taking a zoning decision for the party's primaries.

He added that he would only step down if president Muhammadu Buhari asked him to. 

Bello spoke shortly after his meeting with the president at the presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.

He further maintained his stance on rotational presidency, alleging that the system does not give chance for the best and competent candidate to emerge.

Bello further expressed that there is no candidate as competent as he is in the all Progressives Congress (APC).

He also alleged that the APC governors and some elites from the north conspired against him.

Bello who fielded questions from state house reporters said if the primary election was transparent and credible, he would emerge as the party's presidential flag bearer. 

He further disclosed that he was with the president to explain to him his actions following the decision taken by the governors.
