Yahaya Directs Immediate Dismantling Of Security Check Point

The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has directed the immediate dismantling of all security check points in the state. 

The directive was made available on Monday evening by Ismaila Uba Misilli, the spokesperson to the governor.

According to Misilli, the governor's directive was conveyed by Meshack Audu Lauco, the state's Commissioner for Information and Culture. 

Lauco stated that the directive came following consultations with security agencies in the state.

The statement reads: "Governor Muhanmadu Inuwa Yahaya has directed for the immediate dismantling of all security check points within Gombe state.

"This decision is sequel to a due consultation with heads of security agencies in the State. 

"Meanwhile those check points at the border with the neighbouring states shall remain in place and shall only be closed for vehicular movement from 12 midnight to 6am. 

"The government urges citizens to co-operate with the directive in the interest of peace and security in the state."
