Yahaya Wants APC Members Involved In Anti-Party Activities Sanctioned

Yahaya Wants APC Members Involved In Anti-Party Activities S

The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to sanction members of the party involved in anti-party activities during the 2023 general elections.

The governor lamented that some members of the party were involved in anti-party activities to sabotage the plans for victory of the party in the elections.

He described them as bad eggs who have abused the trust given to them by the party.

He explained that the setback recorded during the Presidential and National Assembly elections was due to the anti-party activities of some of the party members.

Though he did not mention their names, the governor called on the party leadership to take decisive measures against such people working against the party that have given them platform.

Governor Yahaya made the call on Saturday when he hosted the leadership of the party, campaign council and other stakeholders at the state's Government House.

"Inspite of their sabotage and hypocrisy, we have delivered more than the required 25% in the Presidential election and got 20 out of 24 State House of Assembly members; above all we have delivered on the governorship because, as we always say, victory comes only from Allah not from those selfish and unpatriotic politicians", Yahaya said.

"We must swallow the bitter pill and tell ourselves the truth.

"In Gombe State, some Local Government Areas benefitted from both the federal and state governments' developmental projects and programmes but sadly refused to deliver APC in their areas just because of some myopic sentiment", the governor added.

He further assured that he would do justice to everyone irrespective of their religious or tribal affiliations.

"As elected leaders, we have the responsibility to serve our people to the best of our ability without any prejudice.

"I will do justice to all irrespective of religious, tribal or regional affiliation", he said.

This was contained in a statement on Saturday by the spokesperson to the governor, Ismaila Uba Misilli.

According to Misilli, Yahaya solicited the support and prayers of all, especially in the sacred month of Ramadan for the success of the APC administration.
