The former governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari has lost a legal battle to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on Wednesday.
The former governor was ordered by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to forfeit 10 properties linked to him to the ICPC.
Some of the properties forfeited are located in Zamfara, Abuja, Kaduna and Maryland, United States of America.
The forfeiture followed the motion moved by a counsel to the ICPC, Osuobeni Akponimisingha.
The presiding judge, Obiora Egwuatu granted the application for the interim forfeiture.
He added that the interim forfeiture was for 60 days and ICPC could apply for a final forfeiture when the time elapses upon completion of investigation by the ICPC.
The judge however adjourned the hearing for April 28, 2022.
Recall that the ICPC had secured a final forfeiture of $699,000 from Yari in January, 2022.
