The Yobe State College of Health Sciences and Technology Nguru has applauded the state governor, Mai Mala Buni for his Intervention projects in the school.

The college said the governor's intervention has brought an improvement to the number of courses offered in the college from two to twelve within three years.

This was disclosed by the provost of the College, Dr Hamisu Maimusa.

Maimusa said governor Buni had provided the college with the required environment, equipment and resources for accreditation of the programmes.

The Provost listed the courses to include Diploma and Certificate in Community Health Extension, Public Health, Environmental Health, Food Hygiene, Health Education and Promotion, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory, Dental Surgery, Health Information Management, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Environmental Health Technicians. 

As contained in a statement on Wednesday by the spokesperson to the governor, Mamman Mohammed, the provost said: "We now have substantial equipment, chemicals and reagents in our Medical Laboratory, Medical Records, Dental Health laboratory and Community Health laboratory among others. 

"The Buni administration also procured a microtome machine worth N27 million, sets of Dental equipment and pharmaceutical machines among others to facilitate teaching and research in the college."

He further commended the governor for absorbing 196 graduates of the College at the newly established Primary Health Centres across the state.
