Yobe: Gubana Attends Turbaning Of New Village Head

The Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Idi Barde Gubana, has attended the turbaning ceremony of the new village head of Gubana.

The ceremony took place on Saturday at the Emir's palace in Damagum, Fune Local Government Area of the state.

The new village head, Alhaji Idi Ibrahim Gubana, was turbaned by the kingmakers of the Emirate, Shettima Kanuribe, Zannah Sunnuma, Santali and Zaifada.

The Emir, Alhaji Mai Saleh Idris Ibn Usman supervised the turbaning process of the village head.

Shortly after the turbaning, the Emir urged the new village head to continue to give his support towards the development of the emirate.

This was contained in a statement by Hussaini Mai Suleh, spokesperson to the deputy governor.

According to Suleh, the emir equally encouraged him to work hard towards protecting the right of the common man and the image of the emirate. 

The Emir further appealed to the people to intensify prayers for a bumper harvest during the rainy season.

He advised them to fully participate in farming rather than depend on donations from donor agencies for their sustenance. 

The new village head succeeded his father, Late Ibrahim Gubana who died last year at the age of over 100 years.

Among the personalities that attended the occasion was the leader of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Bukar Mustapha, the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mohammed Gadaka, Members of the State Assembly, Commissioners and Special advisers.

Others were liaison officers, senior special assistants and representatives of Mai Tikau, Ngelzarma and Gudi Emirates among others.
