At least six suspected burglars have been arrested in Yobe State following frequent robberies and complaints from various communities.
A statement signed by the state police spokesman, DSP Dungus AbdulKarim in the wee hours of Friday said the notorious thieves specialiae in house breaking, burglary and theft in Damaturu and other Local Government Areas of the State.
"On 10th August, 2022 at about 1200hours detectives from ‘C’ Divisional Police Headquarters having received a distress call from residents of new Bra-Bra Quarters, swung into action...", it said.
Those arrested were named as Muhammed Kachalla aged 24, Abubakar Musa Kalla aged 21, Musa Alhaji Abbullahi aged 27, all residents of new Bra-Bra Quarters, Damaturu, the state capital.
Others include Gambo Musa aged 45 of Anguwan Jaji, Gambo Sa’idu aged 30 of Bolawa ‘B’ layin Malam Dalili, and
Kassim Ibrahim aged 30 of Nayi-Nawa ward.
It added that they've since confessed to their crimes and the sale of robbed items, adding that the buyers have also been apprehended.
It listed some of the stolen items to food stuff, TV set, Power and Generators".
Investigation is currently on-going for subsequent prosecution.
