Yobe State Governor Commissions 600 Shops, Market Stalls

The governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has commissioned 600 shops and market stalls in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme.

The project was commissioned in Buni Yadi, Gujba Local Government Area of the state.

The governor said the project was a measure to resettle displaced communities in line with his campaign promises.

During the commissioning ceremony, he explained that situating the project at Buni Yadi would help boost the economic activities of the people.

He identified Buni Yadi as the commercial centre of the state, adding that it was "why we pulled resources together to improve the livelihood of our people."

While appreciating development partners, he stated that his administration has ensured the provision of agricultural input to improve farming activities.

He further urged the beneficiaries to ensure judicious use of the items received.

Appreciating the governor, the chairman of Gujba local government area, Dala Alhaji Mala, said the people of Gujba were thankful for they had witnessed the dividends of democracy.

He further expressed that the people would continue to remain loyal to the governor, citing the numerous projects available to them.

He commended the governor for the complete renovation of General Hospital Buni Yadi and other clinics, roads and drainages construction, security support among others.
