Yobe State: Governor Signs Off On Payment of Minimum Wage

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has signed off on the payment of the N30,000 minimum wage to the state's civil servants. This was announced on Thursday at the Government House in the state capital of Damaturu.

Earlier, the governor had mentioned that he would set up a committee to look into the payment of the minimum wage, stating that payment would begin in January.

“We are determined to revitalise the civil service through good remunerations and emoluments for better results.

“As I am talking to you, we are ready to pay N30,000 minimum wage effective from January 2020,” he said.

At the event at the Government House, the governor received a report of the committees on agriculture and education that seeks to vivify both sectors.
