Yobe: YSCHMA Validates 10-Year Strategic Plan, 2023 Operatio

The Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA) has validated its strategic plan and 2023 annual operational plan.

The presentation of the validated plans was made on Sunday in Damaturu, the state's capital.

The agency had, in 2022, developed a 10-year strategic plan aimed at providing coordinated direction for the coverage expansion of its programmes to achieve universal health coverage across the state.

The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr Babagana Tijjani, explained that the 2023 operational plan would serve as a strategic guide for the implementation of the agency's plan for the year.

He added that this would aid the achievement of the agency's performance-based coverage expansion and continuous quality improvement.

Tijjani further commended Governor Mai Mala Buni of the state for his sustained commitment to the health sector.

As contained in a statement on Monday by the spokesperson of the agency, Suleiman Gambo Yusuf, the Executive Secretary charged the staff of the agency to complement the state government efforts through dedicated commitment to their various roles and responsibilities.

According to Yusuf, various technical sessions were held during the meeting, with presentations focusing on the agency's performance in 2022.

"The meeting was a joint collaboration between YSCHMA and FCDO-funded Lafiya Project with technical support from the Centre for Health Economics and Development (CHECOD).

"Also, present at the meeting is a representative from the Yobe State office of the National Health Insurance Authority," Yusuf added.
