Yola South Organises 10,000-Man Solidarity Walk For Fintiri

Yola South Organises 10,000-Man Solidarity Walk For Fintiri

The people of Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State have organised a ten thousand-man solidarity walk for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the state.

The solidarity walk is coming barely two days before the governorship and state assembly elections in the state.

According to them, their support for the governor was influenced by the numerous projects he has executed for them.

They added that one of the reasons was the construction of the flyover bridge and naming it in honour of the former Lamido of Adamawa, Late Aliyu Mustapha.

They said Fintiri has shown respect to the Yola Emirate council, hence, the need to support him.

This was disclosed to AllNews Nigeria on Thursday, in a phone interview with the Special Assistant to the governor on Community Mobilisation, Ahmad Abba.

Abba said the solidarity walk recorded a massive turnout of people, including women and youths.

He explained that the walk commenced from the famous Jippu-Jam city gate of Yola town.

Abba said the mission was to return the governor elected in the forthcoming Saturday governorship election.

He added that the First Lady, Hajiya Lami Fintiri represented her husband during the walk alongside other government officials and stakeholders of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

According to him, the first Lady expressed joy over the solidarity walk.

Meanwhile, media aide to the First Lady, Ishaya Bitrus, on Thursday, said the First Lady expressed her gratitude for the kindness displayed by the people of Yola South, adding that the gesture would remain engraved in her heart.

She also appreciated the organizers for doing a well-done job through the mobilisation.
