Yomi Fabiyi: #EndSars Brought About 'Celebrity Revolution'

Nollywood actor and human rights activist, Yomi Fabiyi says the recent #EndSars protest that rocked major cities in Nigeria brought about "celebrity revolution".

Fabiyi who has been a frontliner in the fight against police brutality said this in an Instagram post where he also shared an open letter he wrote to celebrities in 2018.

In the open letter, the veteran actor called on celebrities to rise up and make certain demands from the government.

He had also said that the "only revolution visible in Nigeria is the celebrity revolution where everyone with one voice stand truly with the masses that made them" and demand that the government fix electricity and take actions against every form of insecurity.

While sharing the screenshot, Fabiyi said it seemed more like a prophecy, just as he prayed for every celebrity that partook in the #EndSars protest.

"YEARS BACK: And this END SARS brought about that moment 'CELEBRITY REVOLUTION'. It was like a prophecy. I speak I don't talk. Learn! Learn! Learn!

"God bless all CELEBRITIES who genuinely stand up for the masses. You and your generation shall know joy in this land."

AllNews reports that celebrities like Falz, Burna Boy, 2face, Mr Macaroni among many others also played active roles in the protests.

Just recently, 2face, Davido, and many were sued by a human rights activist, Kenechukwu Okeke for promoting the #EndSars protest across Nigeria.
