Commander of the Multinationals Joint Task Force (MJTF), Major General Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim has urged troops to make sure insurgency in the North East ends next year.

Ibrahim made the call at the decoration ceremony of promoted officers of the Nigerian Army.

He called on the promoted generals and troops to renew their energy in the fight against Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists.

Speaking at the decoration ceremony held at the Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri on Tuesday, he cautioned troops against using operations' resources for personal use.

He said, “Don’t use resources meant for operations for your personal use, it won’t get you anywhere. You must ensure that we end this war in the theatre next year so that we can have time for our families.

“You as a commander must be mobile and be offensive-minded. When the commander has this attribute, it will flow naturally down.”

The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum who was represented by his Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Kaka Lawan reiterated his commitment for further collaborations.

He also appreciated the troops while congratulating the 22 decorated officers.

The Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Christopher Musa, speaking at the event, commended the troops while urging the decorated officers to multiply their efforts in discharging their duties.
