Youth Leader Commends Buhari For Appointing New Service Chiefs

The President of Nigerian Youth Council Cross River chapter, Mr Dan Obu has, commended President Muhammad Buhari for appointing new Service chiefs.

Obu made the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Calabar.

“Beyond the fact that many Nigerians have been clamouring for the removal of the service chiefs, I think the president acted within his constitutional powers

“I commend him for that though it was long over due, ” he said.

The youth leader said that, as Nigerians and as professionals, the new appointees should get down to work immediately.

“The appointees are Nigerians, it doesn’t matter which part of the country they come from, the goal is to tackle insecurity in any part of the country,” he said.

Also speaking, Ugorji Nwabueze, a lawyer, advised the new service chiefs to curtail insurrections in the country by stopping the emergence  of splinter groups.

“They should also reorganise the Armed Forces to achieve global standards,” he said.
