As the heat increases in the US regarding the activities of white supremacists and the systemic racism against minorities, the video-sharing platform YouTube has checked the activities of some channels by taking them off the platform over their racist views which violate the rules of YouTube.
YouTube says it shut down six channels including the neo-Nazi, anti-semitic conspiracy theorist, Richard Spencer, Canadian far-right, white nationalist podcaster, Stefan Molyneux, and the former leader of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke.
“We have strict policies prohibiting hate speech on YouTube and terminate any channel that repeatedly or egregiously violates those policies.
"After updating our guidelines to better address supremacist content, we saw a 5x spike in video removals and have terminated over 25,000 channels for violating our hate speech policies,” says a YouTube spokesperson.

YouTube has been doing some cleaning of content on its platform, especially after its revised policies that have seen the removal of a number of content creators with vile, hurtful views targeted at minority groups.
Other social media platforms like Twitch and Reddit also took down accounts that violated their rules concerning hate.
Reddit said that a pro-Trump Reddit user “has consistently hosted and upvoted more rule-breaking content than average, antagonized us and other communities, and its (moderators) have refused to meet our most basic expectations.
“All communities on Reddit must abide by our content policy in good faith.
“We banned r/The_Donald because it has not done so, despite every opportunity.”
