Zabarmari Massacre: Boko Haram More Motivated Than Nigerian Army - Reno Omokri

Zabarmari Massacre: Boko Haram More Motivated Than Nigerian

In the aftermath of Zabarmari massacre, Reno Omokri a former aide to erstwhile President Goodluck Jonathan has explained that the reason why Nigeria has been unable to defeat Boko Haram is that Boko Haram insurgents are more motivated than men of the Nigerian army.

Omokri who took to his known Twitter page to share his thoughts on the insecurity challenge rocking the country revealed that Shekau sacks and kills his commandant if they fail to successfully execute a mission.

Further alleging that President Buhari pets his service chiefs after repeated failures, Omokri wrote:

"How can Nigeria defeat Boko Haram, when Shekau sacks and kills his commanders if they dare fail at a mission, whereas General @MBuhari keeps and pets his service chiefs after repeated failure? Boko Haram are more motivated than the @HQNigerianArmy"

Omokri's comment is coming in the aftermath of the attack on Zarbarmari community in Jere local government area of Borno state that led to the death of more than 40 rice farmers.

Recall that following the attack on the community, there has been a clamour for the removal of service chiefs with members of the National Assembly asking President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sack the service chiefs.

Moving the motion for the immediate removal of the Service Chiefs, Senator Kashim Shettima who referred to the recent killings in Borno, said the service chiefs had failed to secure the lives of Nigerians.

The lawmakers further demanded that a panel be set up to probe allegations of corruption and financial mismanagement against top military officials.

Also, the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore believes that president Buhari and not the service chiefs should be asked to relinquish his position as the president of Nigeria.

Reacting to the killings, Buhari who condemned the gruesome murder in a recent statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu said that the government has given all the needed support to the armed forces to take all necessary steps to protect the country’s population and its territory.

Further describing the attack as insane Buhari said the entire country was hurt by the senseless killings.

“I condemn the killing of our hardworking farmers by terrorists in Borno State. The entire country is hurt by these senseless killings. My thoughts are with their families in this time of grief. May their souls Rest In Peace,” Buhari said.

It will be recalled that Boko Haram while taking responsibility for the attack claimed that contrary to the figure making rounds, 78 farmers were killed.
