Zabarmari Massacre: Lawan Leads FG's Delegate To Borno After

The President of the Nigerian Senate Ahmad Lawan has on Monday led a delegate of the federal government to Borno State in the aftermath of the Zabarmari massacre that saw 43 rice farmers beheaded by Boko Haram.

Also part of the delegate of the Federal government to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, was the Chief of staff to President, Ibrahim Gambari, Minister of Communication and Digital Economy Ali Pantami, amongst others.

Making this disclosure in a statement on Monday, Ola Awoniyi, a special adviser to the Senate President said that National Security Adviser Babagana Monguno, and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, are also part of the Federal government that is visiting Borno.

Received by the Borno State Deputy Governor, Usman Umar Gadafu, the Federal Government delegates proceeded to the community in Jere local government area, where the 43 farmers were beheaded by the insurgents.

Also at the visit to the local government are  Borno senators Ali Ndume and Abubakar Kyari,  the state chairman of the APC, Ali Bukar Dalori, chief whip of the house of representative, Mohammed Tahir Monguno, rep members Abdulkadir Rahis, Ahmed Jaha among other important leaders.

The Federal government delegates are in Borno to sympathize with the community, families of victims, and the state government on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari.

It will be recalled that the Boko Haram Insurgent on Saturday attacked the Zabarmari community in Jere local government area of Borno State.

In the aftermath of the attack, Amnesty International revealed that while 43 farmers were beheaded, 16 others were internally displaced with 10 female farmers missing.

Reacting to the development, President Buhari who condemned the killings revealed that he has given the Nigerian military the needed support to ensure that the lives and properties of Nigerian citizens are adequately protected.
