A few days ago, the official trailer for the upcoming movie was released and one of its most memorable moments was when the Caped Crusader was seen with his bitter foe.
In the clip, Joker is heard saying the following words to his rival, "We live in a society where honour is a distant memory. Isn't that right, Batman?"
Per a report from Screenrant, director Zack Snyder stated that featuring Joker actor Jared Leto in his version of Justice League was his way of giving fans a taste of the conflict between the character and Batman as he envisioned it.
"It was important to me that Batman and Joker have a scene together. Let's be honest Batman/Joker are kind of the- that conflict is central to the universe."

"Frankly, it was a conflict that I had planned for the Knightmare sequence. And so you know, I was excited to like, get the opportunity to do it, to have a little taste of that."
"So, I thought it was important for fans to see their Batman and this cinematic universe's Joker coming to some small conflict."
Zack Snyder's Justice League comes to HBO Max on March 18, 2021.
