This was disclosed via a statement by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, in Abuja.

The statement said, “The ministry has postponed the flag-off ceremony of the Conditional Cash Transfer intervention in Zamfara State due to insecurity.

Reports have it that the visit of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruk, was not honored by the state governor, Bello Matawalle.

The minister had visited the state to consult with Bello before the Federal Government commenced its distribution of palliatives to state residents.

But neither the governor nor his aides showed up to receive the minister, standing her up for hours until she was flown out of the state in a helicopter.

The minister did not grant the media any audience, as she was ushered to the helicopter back to Abuja, with the residents of the state not receiving the palliatives intended for them.
