Zamfara: Police Rescue 10 Victims After 10 Days In Captivity

Police in Zamfara has rescued 10 kidnapped victims after spending 10 days with their abductors.

According to the police, non of the victims paid anything before their freedom was secured.

This was disclosed by the state Commissioner, Mohammed Bunu in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yazid Abubakar.

"On May 18, 2023, at about 11 pm, 10 people kidnapped from Gidan Gobirawa village in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area were rescued by police tactical operatives on search-and-rescue operations along a forest under Birnin Magaji Local Government Area."

The victims said they had been in captivity since May 7, 2023, when bandits abducted them to an unknown destination.

“The rescued victims were checked by police medical doctors, debriefed, and handed over to their respective families,” the statement affirmed.
