Zamfara Police Rescues 10 Kidnap Victims

The Zamfara State Police Command has said that it rescued 10 of the kidnapped victims that were abducted at gunpoint on Wednesday in the Bungudu Local Area of Zamfara State.

Ayuba Elkana, the state commissioner of police, disclosed this on Wednesday, saying that the rescue of the victims was perfected as a result of the joint effort of police tactical team, the military and members of the vigilante group.

Among the rescued victims was a one-year-old baby who was kidnapped along with her mother, Elkana revealed.

Meanwhile, some suspected gunmen invaded Gada community and killed five persons including a traditional ruler in the early hours of Wednesday.

The northern part of the country has been plagued with consistent attack by bandits, residents falling victim of kidnapping while others have been killed.
