President Muhammadu Buhari has spoken on the recent mass killings in Zamfara State, stating that those responsible must not be allowed to operate freely.
The attack took place in Damri, Sabongarin Damri, Kalahe villages in Bakura Local Government Area, and in Maradun, leaving scores dead.
Addressing the tragedy on Sunday, the president through his spokesman Garba Shehu charged the military on going after the bandits while commending them for their efforts.
"We mustn’t allow the return of days when the bandits had a free hand to do as they wished. The rural folk in Zamfara and elsewhere must be allowed to have peace.
"The momentum that has been developed must be sustained in order to bring closure to the activities of these murderers", he said.
President Buhari also sent condolence messages to the families of the victims, the government, and the people of the state.
